For puppies 4 months and under

Our Puppy Kindergarten program lays the groundwork for a well-mannered adult dog. In a fun, structured environment, your puppy will be introduced to foundational commands such as:

• sit
• recall
• place
• lbegining stages of leash walking

This early training helps prevent problem behaviors and builds confidence from day one.

Designed for owners who want complete on-leash control, this program introduces your dog to obedience under structure and distraction. Your dog will learn :

• sit-stay
• down-stay
• recall
• heeling with automatic sit
• place command

This training also includes exposure to various environments to build social skills and confidence.

This advanced program teaches your dog to obey reliably both on and off-leash. We introduce higher levels of distraction and environmental challenges to ensure obedience holds in any situation. The result is a well-rounded dog that responds quickly and confidently, even at a distance.

At Dark Shadows Canine, we specialize in working with dogs of all temperaments—including those exhibiting aggression toward people, other dogs, or environmental triggers. Aggressive behavior requires additional time, structure, and hands-on management to ensure safe and effective training.

For dogs with aggression issues, our standard programs are extended to allow proper desensitization, confidence building, and behavior modification.

If your dog is enrolled in our On-Leash Obedience program and displays aggressive behavior, the program will be extended to 5 weeks total at a cost of $5,500.

If you choose our Advanced Off-Leash Obedience program for an aggressive dog, the program will be extended to 8 weeks total at a cost of $8,500.

This additional time ensures we can address the root of the behavior, work through real-world triggers, and create lasting behavioral change. Our goal is not only to train your dog, but to help restore trust, control, and peace of mind—for both you and your dog.

This 2 week course will provide the training and equipment needed for the K9 team to fully integrate with a tactical element.

About

The basic course will provide the training needed for the K9 team to fully integrate with a tactical element; conducting breaching from a stacked formation, and free flow room clearing techniques. The K9 team will also learn to deploy on a long line for threshold assessments and situations that require limited penetration.

K9 needs to be social and acclimated to a muzzle, prior to attending, including off lead searching.

Working Teams are allowed to bring one additional Operator in addition to the Handler at no additional cost.

This 5-day intensive course is designed to take SWAT-capable canines and handlers to the next level of integration.

This 5-day intensive course is designed to take SWAT-capable canines and handlers to the next level of integration. The focus is on embedding dogs seamlessly into high-risk tactical operations involving live gunfire, flashbangs and chaotic environments. Dogs will be trained to differentiate threats from team members and subjects, perform under pressure and function effectively on long-line and off-leash deployments.

PREREQUISITES:

• Dogs must have foundational bite work, basic obedience and tactical exposure
• Completion of a prior SWAT canine course is required

Required Equipment:

• Muzzle suitable for aggressive engagement
• Long line (50 feet)
• Tactical vest or harness
• Handler/ Operator tactical gear

Area search operations are often some of the most dangerous undertakings of a K9 team. The ability to put together a hasty plan can greatly mitigate risk and is essential to the success of the overall operation.

This course provides the student with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully integrate into High-Risk Tactical Area Search Operations. The student will learn how to leverage all K9 capabilities during a search operation and how to communicate and coordinate with additional assets that may be utilized (air platforms, SUAS assets, perimeter officers, other agencies, additional K9 assets, etc. ).

About

Class: Decoy & Bite work This course is designed for handlers or officers, young and old, experienced or not experienced. The Decoy school is specifically designed to teach decoy techniques as it applies to law enforcement and military communities.  This is not sport training!  Ground fighting, civil agitation, and frontal body grip work are the key skills emphasized and needed in training reliable working dogs. A working knowledge of animal behavior and canine communication is also needed and covered.
