At Dark Shadows Canine, we believe dogs do more than learn commands — they change lives. That’s why we founded Dark Shadows Paws of Loyalty, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing healing, companionship, and comfort to families facing unimaginable medical challenges.

Inspired by a deeply personal journey, this mission was born from firsthand experience. Our founder Jacob and his family found unexpected strength and relief through the simple presence of their dog during difficult medical hardships. Now, we’re committed to giving that same gift to families with children battling serious medical conditions.

To provide fully trained, well-bred, and properly equipped dogs — at no cost — to families with children facing life-altering medical diagnoses.

We work exclusively with top-tier, ethical breeders who support our cause and offer us genetically sound puppies at significantly reduced costs. Once in our care, these dogs receive the highest level of training, nutrition, vet care, and essential supplies. After 4 to 6 months of development, they’re placed into loving homes where they can offer the emotional support and loyalty only a dog can give.

We aim to place one trained dog per month — that’s 12 families a year impacted by the power of canine companionship. And we’re starting with the first two dogs, fully funded by Jacob and his family.

Each dog costs approximately $12,000–$14,000 to raise and prepare for its forever home — but to the families receiving them, the value is immeasurable.
